Wish I could help…one time project that Ed kept under the radar?
I will say, since there is no Sonoma Coast Pinot, I’ll be picking up some of the SLH Pinots. I opened the 2007 Roar SLH appellation blend and it was fantastic. More delicate and feminine than I would think from this region. I’m not a SLH fan for pinot, but after opening the Roar, I went looking for a few more. I have a hunch that as good as Ed has been with Rosella’s over the year, everything he makes from that AVA will be great.
We popped a bottle of the 2005 Sonoma Coast pinot with Thanksgiving dinner and were insanely pleased. It seemed apropos that the mailer came the next day. I will miss the S.C. this year but I have no doubt Ed will convert many SLH naysayers into believers…
I really wish someone had tasted the Pinot. It’s actually the '07, or so the mailer states. But for $30 delivered it seems like a great deal considering all of the components.
I have had the Pinot quite a few times. Very very good and definitely worth $30. Discliamer: ed and I are good friends and I help at his winery from time to time
Jeb - the wine is medium bodied, dark cherry fruit on the palate, a small sensation of minerality and a little earth. Doesn’t seem to have that tell tale SLH citrus/orangepeel character. Tight but good acid structure for me, so it requires a little air time to open up.
Definitely worth $30 all in with free ground shipping.
