I wanted to thank everyone who supported our fundraiser for Vineyard Manager Rick Anzalone on BD16 by picking up Mystery six packs. Rick was hospitalized for months, lost his home, and Berserkers here helped us to raise several thousand dollars to help get him on his feet. Rick missed the '25 growing season recovering but made it back to manage a picking crew for us on Mount Eden for our Peter Martin Ray Cabernet harvest in October. It was the first growing season he wasnā€™t in the vineyard in 50+ years. But now heā€™s back. Thanks to all of you for supporting him!

Agreedā€¦ I opened a 2021 Mindego Ridge last week, and it was perfectly in the zone!

In for the Cab, the first vintage I had of a ā€˜Bates Ranchā€™ was the 1978 from Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyards. Iā€™ve also had Bates Ranch from Ahlgren and I. Brand, and Ghostwriter.
Sander and Hem is in distinguished company and definitely belongs there.

Thanks for the order Dan! Definitely one of the most storied Cabernet sites in the Santa Cruz Mountains. We also work with Peter Martin Ray on Mount Eden and last harvest picked up La Questa Vineyard which was the source material for Mount Eden and hundreds of other vineyards in California. Hopefully we can offer those in future Berserker Days.

Purchased a 6-pack of Robā€™s Chardonnay! We work out of the same winery and I get to try his wines frequently throughout the year and canā€™t wait to see how they evolve from babies in tank to their fully-fledged selves. Thanks for making awesome wine and being a great resource for us!

Iā€™ve had Peter Martin Ray Cabernets when Soquel was making them (and I was trying to sell them on the East Coast). And Woodsideā€™s La Questas. I would expect to be in on both.

If I didnā€™t already have a lot of Robā€™s wines (and had some $ to spend this BerserkerDay) you can bet Iā€™d jump on his offers. Just crazy deals on some of the very best wines coming from the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Like Ken, I have a lot of Robā€™s wines. Iā€™ve helped him with bottling (as has Ken) and Iā€™m also a club member. I wasnā€™t planning on buying today, but when a friend (Uli, another member) was looking for someone to split the Cabernet 6-pack with, I figured what the hell!
