Stayed at the four seasons last time and the Regis before. Not much in it but I think I preferred the st Regis.

St Regis and Palace fit the bill, thx Joe.

Fairmont Heritage Place, Ghirardelli Square is supposed to be fantastic but super pricey, I’ve never stayed there, but hear nothing but great things.

Great place with huge rooms. Kitchen with wine fridge and stemware. Some balconies with fire pit and bay views. Also, SUV with driver at your disposal.

The St. Francis is also a Starwood hotel. Make sure to be in the tower, the old section is the pits.

I have had great experiences at Le Meridien. Great location, service, etc.

Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately all the recommended hotels were booked for the data I needed! So I ended up going with the Handlery Union Square Hotel. Looks to be pretty nice and located close to Union Square.

You did good. It fits all of your considerations. Try the Monaco next time for the same reasons only a better hotel IMHO.
