San Diego/Carlsbad Wine Store Recos

Looking for wine store recommendations for upcoming spring break trip to Carlsbad, CA. Specifically looking for stores that have good inventory of interesting wines from central coast of CA (Paso Robles down to Santa Barbara county). Will be making day trips to San Diego, Escondido, etc. so any recos in the general region will be appreciated.

I enjoyed shopping @ Vintage Wines while down in La Jolla. It is E of 805 on Miramar Rd. Great people in the store.

In the Miramar area you have Vintage Wines, San Diego Wine Company, and Winesellar and Brasserie.

In Carlsbad, Paon is a very good restaurant.

Check out Meritage and Third Corner in Encinitas, Wine Loft in Carlsbad, Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido.

This shop is near my Mom’s house so I frequent there when I am in town visiting. Usually something there worth buying.

Vintage and WineSellar are my go-to’s out there.

Big fan of Third Corner in Encinitas. Serves as a restaurant as well with great food but you can buy wine and bolt.

If you are looking for CA Pinot, definitely go there. They had a great deal on '08 August West SLH several months ago. I believe it was like $21/btl. I took 4 back to the hotel room…

The Wine Bank in the Gaslamp District of SD is fantastic. Huge selection, fair prices given the location. I’ve been super happy with this merchant during several business trips to SD, close to the ballpark and convention center. It’s about 10 minutes south of the airport.

If you’re in Carlsbad, you’ll find the Winesellar to be much closer on the northern end of SD, and they might have more of a cali selection.
