Drank a great bottle of 2007 Domaine Weinbach Riesling Schlossberg tonight.
Detailed and dry though not at all light, great structure and depth and long lingering finish - more power than what your would expect from many Josmeyer, Boxler and Trimbach’s. I am not sure why I did not buy more from Weinbach.
I too get a little wrapped up chasing the more expensive ‘Schlossberg Ste. Catherine’ and the L’Endit, but I can’t remember ever having anything less that superlative wines from the regular Schlossberg or even the charming Cuvee Theo.
