Rudius Allocation

Is everyone taking their Rudius Syrah and Grenache allocations for the 2006 vintage? I’m not sure how much Syrah to grab as I’ve never had any of this wine.

Will listen to others,

Chris

Will likely take my Grenache allocation ($35/bottle) but am passing on the Syrah, as I need to “save” a few bucks…I heard someone up North is having a sale on Pavie [welldone.gif]

the 05 grenache was delicious. I bought some of both. Might end up changing it to only grenache but the syrah sounds interesting as well and at $35 it’s a great price.

Buying my full allocation of both.

My most recent 2005 Syrah tasting notes:

  • 2005 Rudius Syrah - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (6/13/2009)
Popped and poured, enjoyed over 2 hours. Nose, palate and finish are a dead ringer for a Northern Rhone syrah (Hermitage) from a warm vintage. Ripe fruit, cracked pepper, coffee, silky smooth with a long, minerally finish. Not as thick or viscous as previous bottles, showing wonderful balance with the fruit more elegant and less primary. This is evolving very nicely and I am excited to taste it over the next 10 years.

I was only able to take 2 of each- remember that Carlisle goes out this week.

thanks for introducing me to their grenache oh so many months ago! good stuff. too bad i can only afford a couple of bottles of each.

Not on the Rudius list…but I am eagerly awaiting the drop from Mike to see what I get this year.

Both '05s were delicious and I’ll be buying both again this year.

Grenache is now listed as sold out. Wow, that went quickly!

Chris

whew good i got my bottles in.

Just placed an order for 4 bottles of the grenache at 11:38pm

The grenache still shows as available for me. I ordered three yesterday, and it shows three still available.

I just ordered my mixed case (6 & 6) this morning. I may open an '05 Grenache this weekend to celebrate.

Guess it only shows “Sold Out” when you order your entire allocation. I jumped to conclusions.

Chris

Just ordered 6 Grenache and 2 Syrah
