The Beau VV is dreadfully expensive, but it’s darned exciting wine–a 2006 that I have been very patient with will be one of the highlights of a big event for me in July.
I do like Larry’s (Tercero) Roussanne…though I love the Albarino even more
Jaffurs is also very good, and I have liked Qupe’s from time to time as well.
Another one that deserves mention, but is next to impossible to source is Giaconda. For me, this should be their flagship wine, even above their Chardonnays. I’ve only had it twice and it has been awesome twice. Also not an inexpensive quaff nowadays.
I forgot about the Giaconda, largely due to the difficulty of obtaining any of their usually excellent wines. Sadly, the Roussanne is no longer being made.
I vote for buying the TC Esprit Blanc (we did). If you’re in the Vinsider Club, it’s $36 per bottle, less 10% if you buy a case, free shipping if you’re buying at least 6 bottles of Esprit. According to Cellartracker notes, the 2013 is sounding pretty delicious as well.
I think you have to be in the club to buy the 100% Roussanne. It seems to sell out quickly.
I like the style very much, also. They seem to do a lot of things very well.
I usually go champagne or white burgundy for truffle tajarin, but this
was awfully good.
Another very good example, IMHO, is the LAgeir Meridith Chesters Anvil Gretna Green. It is primarily Rousane with a “soupcon” of viognier. This was feature on Berserkersday. Went thru 5 and am having to reload. Just delicious.
