Rockin' QPR: Domaine de L'Hortus Grand Cuvee Pic St Loup 2005

A recommendation from Wine Library. I usually take with a grain of salt a rec from a retailer but this is really the real deal. $20. I think mostly mourvedre with syrah and grenache. A great balance of leather, asphalt, a hint of toasty oak and a great tannic structure. It has a great acid balance against the fruit that I think that makes this a great food wine, and I think lamb would be terrific.

Put it this way, I stopped at the WL on the way home from a job interview and bought 1 bottle. The next week I drove 2 1/2 hours each way to Springfield NJ to get another case. Probably should have got 2. 93 points
