Roast Leg of Lamb, Aspargus with Icon

Tonight’s dinner was a reprise of the main course of Sunday’s dinner. We enjoyed four small medium rare slices of the leg of lamb each with the leftover asparagus and a 1999 Ravenswood ‘Icon’ (73% Syrah, 16% Mourvedre, 11% Grenache) - rich dark berry fruit; adequate acidity, with a medium long berry fruit finish. The Icon was very good with the meal. After the last two days of gross indulgence, celebrating our anniversary, we decided not to have dessert. We both gained four to five pounds over the past two days. So dessert wasn’t required.
