No. I paid 42 and 38 respectively on release. I recently finished my last 05 SLH and still have one 05 Garys’ to enjoy. My notes are in CT but as for a deal on these, not at the prices you listed.

Frank beat me to it. I would say no also, slightly lower than release but should be able to find cheaper.

…and you bought it at release pricing. Not worth $39? Wow, I’m surprised. Did I mention no shipping?

Maybe ‘just frigging tremendous’ in '07, but based on Frank’s palate shift probably just an OK wine today.

Brian, this is a good call out and to the point Russ made, I cannot argue. I am doing some shift but I stay true to syrah. I guess now what I move towards is color, flavor and lower alcs. I do think the 2005 Roar syrahs are better than the 2006–I believe Adam got the 2005s right when he made them. Interesting, it’s been nearly three years since I drank the 05 Garys’, which I would have said not possible–that long ago? Knowing the vintage and that I liked it previously, and there are 42 users of the wine still, I’d tell you Brian to pick up one of each, especially the Garys’. I did drink my last 2005 SLH last month and it’s bigger than I recalled it so Id say that wine is ready to drink but the Garys’, I wish I had 2 and I’d open one this week.

PS–Russ, just downing the last glass right now of a 2005 Copain Thompson syrah. Same vintage, delicious fruit but the stems are really dominating.
