HERE WE GO!!! We can’t believe one of our favorite restaurants in the world, @foxface_nyc has agreed to host a #rieslingstudy!
Soilpimp x Foxface Natural - #rieslingstudy
Robert Dentice, aka soilpimp, our neighbor and favorite feinschmecker is bringing his world famous rieslingstudy party - an amalgamation of good food, German wine, and music, to Foxface Natural!
This is the 25th rieslingstudy and it will be the first to include wines from outside of Germany, focusing on the Beaujolais and Mosel.
Both regions have a multitude of similarities including top vineyards like Moulin-a-Vent and The Doctor or Wehlener Sonnenuhr that in the early 1900s were recognized as qualitatively and monetarily similar to the great Burgundy Grand Crus and Bordeaux First Growth. Both regions are going through a profound renaissance which deserves to be better known throughout the world.
There will be a brief discussion of the historical / cultural significance along with the current state of these monumental regions led by Jon Bonné - author of The New French Wine, and Stephen Bitterolf - author of Ten Years of Hocks and Moselles.
Chef David Santos will be sending out food from his wood fired kitchen inspired by the wines (and foods) of both regions.
This will be a standing, Parisian wine bar style raucous BYOB party, unlike any that you have experienced before!
Robert will be bringing many old, rare and large format wines from the Mosel
Renée will be bringing Beaujolais (also old, rare and large format!)
