Rieslingfeier 2014

Tickets available now! Who’s going? What are you bringing? Notes from last years’ event in these two threads

February 20-22, NYC. More info at rieslingfeier.com

I signed up quickly. Sold out fast last year! Best wine event of 2013.

Disclosure: Stephen is a friend.

I’m in. I didn’t attend last year but I’m really looking forward to it. Time to start rummaging in the cellar to find some goodies to bring. I have some cool Emrich-Schoenleber Auslese 3 star and some Eiswein that I bought at the winery, I have some older Doenhoff Spaetlese. It’ll be fun to meet some new German wine enthusiasts.

Strongly leaning in that direction. Can anyone provide any insight as to which events are not to be missed? I saw a couple dinners that look very interesting.

I have never been but for what it’s worth I’m looking at the Fri. night dinner, the crawl on Sat. and the Rheingau seminar on Sat. I’m going to train in from Providence on Friday afternoon and head home on Sunday.

Crap-I am likely on the road.

Just bought Friday night tickets
Guess I have to go now!

Really want to go this but my schedule is tough then - will probably just have to do the crawl unless last minute tix are available when I know if I can make it. Sounds like a great program.

David I’m sorry to hear that. I was hoping you’d be there. Let me know if your schedule changes. Among other things I’m planning to bring my last bottle of 1976 Schloss Eltz Rauenthaler Rothenberg Auslese. I also have a pair of 1983 Kabinetts. Forster Jesuitengarten Bassermann-Jordan and Buerklin-Wolf.
I’ve been waiting for a special occasion.

Just got my tickets. Really looking forward to this.

Stephen Bitterolf posted on my site about the second annual Rieslingfeier and added some more details about the festivities.

I signed up for the Fri dinner when David Tietz did, as all I was able to do last year was the Riesling crawl, which was a blast! Just ordered my ticket for the Saturday seminar as well. Looking forward to getting more in depth knowledge on one of my favorite varietals.

REALLY looking forward to this. I will be at the Thursday dinner and the big event on Friday. Sadly I have to be in Napa on Saturday and will miss the rest.

There are still a couple of seats open for the Thursday and Saturday dinners.

I just bought my Saturday night tickets for Donnhoff and Schaefer. I haven’t told my wife yet that we are going to two events the two nights we are in NYC. …there is a possibility I will be giving one of my nights away.

Don’t think I can make it this year due to scheduling conflicts, but I look forward to reading the reports after the fact.

So post up! We’ll be waiting…

It’s TOMORROW!!! I’ll be at Josef Leitz’s table for the dinner, and will be at the seminar Saturday. Final count, who else is going to be in attendance? Would love to meet more Berserkers in person.

Looking forward to enjoying this vicariously  Please post, I’m envious!

I am Schaefer’s table. Very excited!

Kicking myself for screwing up my schedule and to be headed south from NY on Amtrak so early this morning, but thanks to Steven, Frank, Hansjorg, and Jordan for a great evening last nights. The wines showed at an exceptional level, with the 04s from Halenberg and Kastianbush in a glorious spot. And the evening was bookended with absolutely lovely 02 and 12 pinot blanc also from Kastianbush and a revelatory halenberg eiswein (04?) from a magnum brought generously by the west coast importer. It was simply a marvellous way to enjoy so many of these singularly great wines…and excuse the spelling…

I will be there. Don’t know who I’m sitting with. They all look good. I know Frank Schoenleber,
Johannes Leitz and Clemens Busch.
Got a wine bag full. See you there.
