Reynvaan list - wait time

Recently I enjoyed a 2010 Reynvaan In The Rocks and it blew my hair back, I’ve been talking about the wine quite a bit. I signed up for their wait list and have been researching wine-searcher to source other expressions while I wait most patiently.

My primary question is, how long should I expect to wait to be granted an allocation? Next question is, What should I expect to be allocated? Third, what other bottlings should I try that I can purchase online or at a restaurant? Finally, whenever allocation time starts up again, I’d be willing to take a share or someone’s aloocation that is not interested in purchasing their allotment.

Thanks in advance for any assistance provided.

Last year the wait was less than 12 months; check out their website for wine offerings. There are several people here who follow Reynvaan so someone is likely to give you more info on their wines. Or, do a simple search on Reynvaan in Wine Talk and you’ll probably find out more than you were looking for.

I think my wait was approx. 5 months–I signed up in August 2013, and in January 2014 I got what may have been an off-cycle offer to purchase up to 18 bottles of the 2012 wines (6 btls each In the Rocks & Unnamed, 3 btls each Contender & In the Hills).

Allocation changed a bit this year–still offered 18 bottles of the 2013s, but it was 6 btls each Contender, In the Rocks, and Unnamed. I got 1 3-pack of each and “wishlisted” a 3-pack of each of the others (Stonessence, Foothills in the Sun Reserve, and In the Hills)–those wishes were granted. It will be interesting to see whether that will change next year’s allocation…

Hope that info helps!

Thank you for the responses, much appreciated.

Understand that you pay in August and take delivery in October, 14 months later. Having said this, reynvaan is doing some sensational things today.

Reynvaan is a fantastic wine. We tasted there in 2013 with Matt right after harvest. He put us on the list, sent us away with some past vintages and all was well. Then I realized they don’t ship to sunny SC. So now I pass on the offer and just order from a few online retailers. It limits what I bottlings I can order vs the allocation but at least I can get it shipped directly to me.
