FWIW, when we came to the NC mountains about 30 years ago we met Steve Tatum who owned an antique/furniture store. He had just started making furniture out of old barn wood salvaged from local farms. We bought a number of his pieces and have loved them. (If you look closely at the photo, there is a credenza he made in the background.)
Steve quit making furniture and decided to plant a vineyard and make wine commercially. He did that for several years and has now retired.
A jack of all trades, to be sure, but I think he made better furniture than wine.

I may well be in Greece this fall. I won’t be able to reach Mytikas (the peak of Mount Olympus), but will be happy to meet you on the mountain at a lower elevation to accept my award… how about a laurel wreath and a bottle of Economou ‘Antigone’?

Great comment on Dagueneau! It never would have occurred to me. I don’t think the flavors have that much in common, but the solidity and subtlety ring the bell right out loud.

I posted on the 2020. I now have the 2021, which is as similar as you can get. If you can find any, it should retail in the mid $20s.
