Retailer Check - The Odd Wine Company

Anyone ever heard of this outfit? Some of their prices seem surprisingly low and they have no photos of the actual wines just black bottles for everything. No google reviews. They say photos available upon request so I requested they email me some but seems shady. Thanks.

FIFY.

Their website is pretty bad, but a quick check of the address shows they share the same space as Baril Compliance Service, a company that helps wineries deal with state and federal permits, registrations, etc., so they’re probably legitimate.

I have purchased from them. They are based in New England. The owner is an older gentleman Al Sirois and purchases cellars
Wine purchased that I have drunk have all very good.

You can email them and they’ll send pics. I’ve bought from them before. Some older wines in great condition.

Odd name for a wine company.

I’ve known Al, the owner, for many years and he is reputable and very knowledgeable. He also pays attention to provenance.

Be advised when buying from these guys in the hot months it seems that they ship unless told not to with no consideration of weather. I wasn’t able to tell them not to in time and it’s on its way, despite being 90 degrees where it’s coming from. To their credit, the guy told me that if it’s heat damaged they will refund or replace, but wow, I hate for the guy to even be in that position. Why do retailers ship wine when it’s so hot out??
