Always a positive experience dealing with @ThatcherBakerBriggs and his team.
Ever have chance to try a Janthial Rully En Guesnes (Chalonnaise) for comparison?
It’s very good.
I grabbed some of the 2016s, i do believe. Ive only had 1. I was drunk and do not recall. That doesn’t happen too often lol.
Ah guys! You let the cat out of the bag! I was hoping no one would know about this place. This place is crap.
Don’t buy here, they don’t have good wine
I’ve drunk with Thatcher many times in the Bay Area and in Burgundy…and bought and sold with him on a several occasions. First met him when he was a Somm at Saison, a restaurant in San Francisco with a very deep (if often very expensive!) wine list. Exceptionally knowledgeable. Exceptional taster. This retailer is terrific for any wines you find that are of interest and have a price you find is right. Buy with confidence.
Thanks for all the kind words! It’s greatly appreciated and happy to hear all the positive feedback!
@Andrew_K - I never got the impression.
Your point is rather interesting - if about us or someone else. I really enjoy talking about this topic and if talking to trade or collectors or producers - its always a good discussion.
I do think that there are a few key points that are easily missed. Do you know how many bottles that I could sell of Coche Meursault at $250? Thousands… Do you know how many bottles of Coche people are willing to sell to us at 200? 0… Not even Kermit Lynch lol along with relationships with wine makers, the demand far outweighing the supply, the actual production and the hardest part, the ability to actually have the wine available to purchase in the open market.
But again - we always love the feedback, and only want to get better.

Just another plug for Thatchers.
I was holding 6 bottles with them, thinking I’d build a case or more, but needed some of the bottles and the whether is still good.
Quick response, and free ground shipping during the spring despite the fact it was several orders compiled over the past 6 months or so.
They’ve been great to deal with all around.
Happened to see your post, @Dennis_Atick, so wanted to chime in with mine: really attentive customer service, despite the fact that I’ve only been a “small potatoes” customer with them so far. They’ve been good to me and I’ve recommended them to friends.
Thanks @J-Izzo and @Dennis_Atick for the kind words!
For the record - we love all potatoes, big, small and even sweet potatoes
Thanks for all your support!

A good story about a terrible incident regarding Thatcher’s for me:
In the summer of 2022, I purchased a ridiculous amount of Keller as I was chasing my Keller high after trying the bottle of 2012 G-Max. I had also purchased other wines and had them held for fall/winter shipping. Fall came around and they sent out the wine as expected, but GLS (I think) ended up fumbling and losing the package - and of course it was the box with all of the Keller. After some back and forth with Noah, they were able to offer me a full or partial replacement for all of the bottles, with overnight shipping included, and I happily came out with a modified order that I liked over my original order! The best thing was that I did not have to worry about my order as I’ve had previous retailers that had put me in limbo until everything was figured out with their insurance, which is just unnecessary stress!
As such, they are one of the best retailers I’ve dealt with in terms of service. Just very prompt and professional, with superb communication. In fact, I think I have a 2012 Kellerkiste on order from them - I am hoping GLS doesn’t lose it this time!
Just received 13 bottles from thatcher. I found the prices, free shipping option and the service to be excellent and wanted to let you all know. Doug specifically has been a real asset. I have them on permanent rotation at this point.
