Retailer check: Spirited in Lenox, MA

Anyone have experience with this shop? Thanks in advance.

Max -

Yes, I have been a customer at the shop (previously known as Nejaimes) for several years. Great outfit with awesome customer service.

Jim Nejaime is a class act all the way. Don’t hesitate.

Is this the sister store of Nejaime in Stockbridge? Nejaime has a terrific, diverse selection.

Max - As I recall, Massachusetts retailers aren’t permitted to ship out of state.

Every time I vacation in the Berkshires I shop there. Great shop, great people and great cheese selection also.

Thanks, guys - appreciate the intel.

John - their website says otherwise: http://www.spirited-wines.com/restricted_states

In fact, Spirited seems to be unusually and admirably clear on what it can ship and to where.

Then they are breaking the law. it is a fact that Massachusetts retailers may not ship out of state.

That’s what I always thought, and it was the case the last time I checked, some years ago, but things change

Not yet.

You’ve obviously researched this more recently than I have.

An hour ago just to check.

I’ve dealt with them for 30 years. Jim Nejaime in particular. I know of no business run by a nicer group of people.

Jim and his cousin owned 3 stores in Lenox and Stockbridge. A few years ago, they decided to split them. Jim kept the largest store which is in Lenox on the border with Pittsfield. His cousin kept the other two and the name. Jim chose the name Spirited for his store.

I saw him just last weekend when I went over there for a tasting with Terry Theise.

I don’t know what the deal is on shipping, but I would talk to them if you are interested in something. Perhaps there is some work around like in California where they deliver to some independent company which is able to ship. I don’t know because I just drive over there every so often.

Thanks, Ken - I plan on doing exactly that. They have some great stuff.
