Reno Nevada or Lake Tahoe Wine Stores

The wine selection in the Reno Costco sucks. Just saying… I think Whispering Vine has a decent selection of west coast wines, but as mentioned above, you are at the mercy of the distributors as far as selection and vintage goes. Cheers!

Ya the Reno and sparks selections are not great…

We nipped into that Incline Village Raley’s to get some Redbox videos for the kids and I took a few min to look at their wine selection. It is nicer than anything I’ve seen in their system in California - much more higher end wines - especially for New World wines. It’s also larger in terms of just the sheer size of the dept. (Apparently according to the kids, this is the same store where my SiL broke a bottle of wine a couple of years ago)

I’m not sure if there were any explicit deals, but they had the current vintage Beringer KV Cab at the reserve level for $35. Good spectrum of Siduri pinots, even I think some of the vineyard ones, which I didn’t think made it to mass marketers.

I finally made it to Pour House, great recommendation! Solid German choices in addition to CA and France. No frills, all passion for wine. Don’t expect a purchasing transaction, but rather an in depth conversation with a fellow wine geek. Ended up with Sean Thackrey Pleiades and Dr. Heyden Old Vine Silvaner. Cheese shop is co-located.
