Beautiful note Kevin, and a wonderful tribute to your friend. Kelly and I shared bottles a few times around twenty years ago, including here in Colorado where I am now reading the sad news. You captured the personality I remember nicely. The writeups from your trips were always a joy to read.
RIP Kelly, I’ll have a drink for you tonight brother.
Enjoy life folks, it’s a gift.

Sorry to hear this, Kevin.

I had my own version of your Kelly — bon vivant who was my wingman for my best excesses. He passed away last year.

You will find those memories gladden you as the months pass. He will be with you forever.

Peace to his family, his friends, and you, Kevin.

Thank you for these words Kevin. Kelly was a good egg, and the world is fortunate to have had him walk on it for what was too short a time. I feel for his family and you. I hope to see you soon and raise a glass for him.

Take good care,

T

Very sorry to hear this, Kevin. My condolences to all and let’s raise a glass or two to honor our departed wine companions.

Sorry to hear and condolences. Like others I always enjoyed the posts about your adventures together.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kelly in person once a long time ago at a offline in Woodinville. A lovely person taken way too soon. RIP

I was fortunate to spend more than a few occasions with Kelly thanks to our shared friendship through you, Kevin. He was authentic, generous, engaging and passionate and simply put, a great human being. He’ll be missed by many. So sorry for your loss.

Kelly was a friend. His personality was contagious. Always smiling. In addition to wine he was a fervent music lover. I last had dinner with him and Mrs. Kelly a year ago and learned of his diagnosis. Many in the Charlotte area will miss him dearly.

Oh my. I was at several tastings of the GJE and met Kelly there. Horrible news. RIP!

Short but sweet. He really lived and enjoyed life to the fullest.

Wow may he RIP. I met him several years ago. Condolences to his family…

RIP, good sir.

RIP Kelly.

So sorry for your loss Kevin. Tales of your wine travels provided a great deal of entertainment over the years.

Kevin, I am so sorry for your loss. Like many others here, I never met him but I greatly enjoyed reading about your wine travels together. You had a great friend; so did he.

He was part of the original Nebbiolo Knights formed through the Parker BB. He was always great fun. I will miss him. Here’s a photo of Kelly and Greg dal Piaz, who we called “The Barolo Brothers”.
