Red Chile Chocolate & Port

For dessert tonight, after the chicken, we decided to have some of the red chile chocolates from ChocolateSmith that the Jamisons left for us on Saturday. They were very good with a simple Fonseca Bin 27 Port. Anything more complex would have been overwhelmed by the bright, spicy red chiles, which went well with the rich dark chocolate. It was a good finish while watching the original Star Wars (Part 4), which I hadn’t seen for many years.

Tonight after a delightful Casa del Vino tasting of fifteen Pouilly-Fuisses with Persian food, we had the last of our red chile - dark chocolate with a 1977 Rocha Colheita Port - lighter than the Kopke, with still nice wood-aged port flavors that were not overwhelmed by the spicy red chiles in the chocolate. This was enjoyed while watching older episodes of Doctor Who.
