Red Burg: Priority of cellaring every vintage?

Thanks for all the interesting thoughts. My plan going forward is roughly to keep buying back vintages, especially 2010 and earlier when I can find deals that work for me. Really I need to stop buying new vintages, based on my age and the nutty price increases.

Btw I have no allocations. Been buying Burgundy for 7 or 8 years, and have a handful of friendly retailer relationships, but none who do allocations. I missed that train.

Totally agree with the sentiment, but if you have Burg allocations (and you want to keep them) then you are sort of painted into a corner.

sour grapes here, but I bought yearly including 2003 and 2004 and along came 2005 and new money and suddenly my allocations disappeared or got shorted. I quit a lot of retailers after that vintage . . .

Bizarrely, I got burned in the ‘06 vintage and got drastically cut on my favorite allocations. Never understood why. It took me about 8 or 9 years to find another retailed that I could rely on, but all has been good since then.
