Recent white burgundy vintage experiences

We had this Philippe Colin - Chenevottes 1er Cru 2024 the other night. Needed a bit of air and was then singing. Showed beautiful apples, stone fruit, citrus, floral and spicy with great salinity. Surprising volume for 2024 (probably a bit of chaptalization here), long lasting and with potential. One of the best wines of the night.

Paul Pillot - La Grande Montagne 1er Cru 2023

Citrus, apples, pear, stone fruit, white flowers, light touch of good oak, fine spices, mineralic. Fresh and salty, full body, balanced and long lasting. Showed great with some air, elegant and with potential :clinking_glasses:

  • 2022 Domaine Marc Morey & Fils Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru En Virondot - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru (24.10.2026)
A super savory nose with lemony and apricot-y fruit, a hint of butter, roasted nuts, some lactic leesiness and smoky reduction. Really expressive and complex, captivating and impressive. The oak use is excellent: very evident on the flavors and texture but there is easily enough fruit and acidity to balance things out. This is a big, concentrated wine, bordering on Grand Cru weight, but it is so driven and energetic that it drinks very well even on its own. Terrific, youthful stuff.
