Recent Grad curious about how folks who don't have an wine related major end up in the wine industry

Much like being a chef, the best way to get a job in the wine industry is to apprentice.

With my 25 years in the business, I have met many people with background not related to the wine business.
Also, the wine business is so large and widespread, that it is hard to define a narrow understanding of what the wine business is.
From agricultural production to commerce to consumption there are so many different areas and roles in the business.
Sometimes, a targeted and specialised wine-education is not important or relevant in order to fulfill the job and sometimes it is crucial.
