Quick TN's - 1991 Monty Cab, 2001 Carlisle Two Acres +

1991 Chateau Montelena Cab
In a great and vibrant place right now - could probably sit on these for at least 5-10 years and get great enjoyment out of them. Fruit that truly gained weight throughout the night, starting as ligher cherry/almost strawberry essence then to much darker cherry/blackberry’ plenty of cigar box spice; great length with plenty of tannins still present.

2001 Carlisle Two Acres (from Mag)
Beautifully expressive nose of dark fruit, a tad of funk, plenty of stuffing . . . if you got em, sit on em even a bit longer for full enjoyment . . .

2005 Melville Carrie’s Pinot
Had this with Pork Cheeks with a pineapple ‘salsa’ and what a perfect match it was! The wine has integrated nicely, with the overt sense of stem inclusion now gone and just the noticable uptick in aromatic complexity still remaining. Much better now than a year ago . . .Not sure how much longer I would hold these, though . . .

Other wines had that evening either were my tercero wines, or Fess parker wines, and you don’t need to hear ME talk about these puppies (-:

Cheers!

Love that '91 Monty. Probably my favorite Montelena, along with their '87 and '84 and one of my favorite Cal Cabs of all time.

Brad

Larry: nice choices, love the 91 Montelena…many more years left in it. Also the Melville Carries is a favorite of mine, like the flavor profile.

Larry, thanks for the note on the Monty. We will be openingi a D-Mag next month for Flannery Fest II.

Wow…I missed that one. NIIIIIICE. [drinkers.gif]

A big thanks to Dr. Cornutt on that one. It was shipped last month and is resting nicely at my crib.

Well at least there will be something for me while you guys suck on your oak bombs. [diablo.gif]
Speaking of which I just read WineX has some 04 Pavie at a good price FYI.

I just saw that…alas, I have six pack of '04 Pavie enroute for delivery tomorrow. Only five bucks more a bottle.

Thanks for the notes … very nice line up.

J

I cant wait…thanks for the note Larry.
