The Lynch Bages was surprisingly good with a 2lb porterhouse. I dissed this wine on another board a few years ago but it was quite balanced last night with good fruit and acceptable length, No 89 but not bad.
The 96 Lafon Rochet we had recently was the best bottle yet and showed a wine moving into prime time. No rush to drink at all but pop 'em if you got 'em with no guilt.
