Does anyone have any intel on whether stacole generally takes proper care of wine in its possession?
think they are ok
they have been importing and selling bordeaux for quite some time and have a good reputation
the burgs i have bought (dujac, meo, trapet, vogue, etc) through a retailer in florida have always been in fine shape as well
they were bought in the past few years by the country vintner fyi
I actually think they are one of the better distributors in Florida. If you want a contact that would be honest, please let me know.
I know why you’re asking, Maureen. When I ever see their importer strip, I wonder how hot it was when the wine went on and off the truck.
I have been told that they do…u can call the wine barn in orlando…they have carried their wines for years
They have to Maureen. They are HUGE and distribute not only in FL but in the entire southeastern US.
They are the Chateau Latour distributor for the entire southeastern US. Engerer is pretty particular about things like that. I would imagine they have to be on their best behavior. FWIW.
Have a bunch of Stacole wines and have never had a problem.
thanks, all
What ya buying ?
Maureen, Stacole is solid. The company is now owned by Vitner’s group. I believe they only use refigerated trucks for retail deliverly in Florida. About two weeks ago I order a fair amount of 2010 Barthod and when I picked the wine up at the retailer about 6 hours after delivery by Stacole it was still very cool to the touch. If you need more info, pm me.

It doesn’t matter, because once you buy them, you’ll end up drinking them in humid Florida weather so the wines will automatically taste bad.
Won’t be drunk in florida don’t worry.
NYET !
