More than likely the '99. That is just off the top of my head. I can go back in my notes/pictures from last year and see if I had either of those, but I would certainly imagine the '99 would be a better bet.
Based on nothing but the terroir, Charmes. More fun young in my experience.
I have had these both many times, but not the Charmes recently, and not together.
I think this is my favorite Rousseau Charmes I have had (although I haven’t had many recent ones). Lovely wine.
The '98 Rousseaus including the CDLR are all drinking very well, and probably all much better than the '99’s, even so, I would still go the '99 if I was picking.
Opened 98 CDLR twice in 2013 and both times the wine outperformed and was ready to go.
My first inclination was the CdlR. '99s seem so young to me and the few '98s I’ve had recently were delicious. FWIW, CT notes love both wines…not surprising.
hold on the 99 and drink the 98.
I think many 99’s are in a dumb phase.
Yeah and that goes for 1er Cru as well
had a 98 charmes 2 weeks ago and it was in a beautiful place, fwiw
