QPR Heaven: 2007 Siduri Russian River Pinot

Saw a stack of these at a local wine shop here in Boston for $15. Did a quick recon on CT and WS, looked like a killer price so I snatched up the last 6. Best $15 dollar pinot I have ever had; by a long shot! Maybe all the hype about 2007 CA pinot is true?

  • 2007 Siduri Pinot Noir Russian River Valley - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (10/12/2009)
Screw Cap bottle. Nice ruby color with a dark blood red like core. Nose gives off sweet maraschino cherries, touches of baking spices, cinnamon, tobacco, anise and hints of toasty oak. This wine was a bit big at first but calmed down a in the glass with air. Bright red fruits on the palate with cranberry, pomegranate and strawberry. Nice streak of acidity with decent weight makes this nice and round. A touch of tannin on the back end all wrapped up with more spice, mild oak and tons of fruit. Smallest touch of heat is noticeable which did blow off with air. This wine is still rather large with medium body and weight. It could use a year or two in the bottle but very enjoyable now. I almost fell over when I was told the price for their Willamette Valley PN here in NY. A little more, $19.99-21.99 retail, but certainly a sick price for Siduri.

So if on the shelf for $19.99 and taking a 20% case discount it would net out at $15.99 which could easily be someone’s net “sale” price.

$15? Nice…

That is a steal. It almost sounds like they mis-marked the 750’s to the 375 price…
Not sure if Adam bottled the RRV in 375’s though.

The '07 Sonoma is even better for around the same price.

$15 is great. Unfortunately, when you add Cali sales tax and 3rd party shipping,
it’ s closer to $23.

This is Macy’s juice at Wal-mart pricing! I love the wine, and love the price. Had it twice and cannot think of a better deal.

I thought it was a wrong price as well until I looked at the price tag and it had $25 as the original price and $15 as the sale. Not sure why they are already blowing out 07 CA pinot but I’m happy I was able to grab a few.

They also have 05/06 Siduri Ewald vineyard for $30; might grab a few of those as well.
