After a week of no wine due to a medical mishap, I went back into the wine foray with a little CdR that Costco has cases and cases of.
Popped and poured after dinner to enjoy while watching Knocked Up on HBO (which is supremely funny). Color is inky purple with not very much glycerin clinging to the sides of the stem. It has aromas of earth, cassis and roasted meats. Palate is very concentrated with cherries, white pepper and almost a cola component…it has very good acidity as well. No noticable oak or tannin, which makes me think that this is a short term drinker. I hope that the rest of the '07s that are trickling in will live up to this little gem.
Exceptional value for $7.99 a bottle…buy it by the case.
