I tried a Danish one a few days ago, imported by DeMaison. It was a combination of juices, must, kombucha and other astringents and aromatics. Unfortunately not terribly convincing as a complex companion to food, as it pretty much rendered as a sour fruit kombucha. Based on the ingredients I expected more grip but no luck.
I thought they worked well as an alternative to wine. It’s not the same exact thing but they felt complex and fun to drink with some of the same flavors you find in wine. It seems like they make a lot of different versions and I’m sure some are better than others. I do like homemade Kombucha as an alternative also.
Why ruin perfectly good vodka/rum?
