Posting with single TN or multiple TNs?

what do you prefer?

Scott

Personal preference if for whatever wine(s) can be properly identified in the subject. XXXX year CdP’s, sure, multiple notes because it will be easy to search on and will give comparisons of like wines.

The more mixed the wines, the more I’d prefer separate notes.

Just makes searching that much easier for me.

Is this another Pre Poll? [berserker.gif]

if you drank 3 wines in the same night, just post all 3 in one post opposed to 3 separate posts back to back to back.

i thought this would be a worthwhile topic.
i guess not.
strange board.

I tend to debate the same thing. If I am posting on one meal then all the notes come together. If I am saving up notes or catching up then I publish in a few themed posts usually.

Post them seperate, unless there is a theme, like a Cab dinner.

I pretty much always bundle around some theme, tasting or time frame. That is just the way I tend to do it, so as not to clog up the system with too many notes at once.

But I see (and sense) the point that there could be a wine somebody is really interested to read a note about, but they don’t see it because the author didn’t or couldn’t specifically cite every wine in the thread title. So, they (for whatever reason) don’t read the thread and never see the note.

I also sense that when one includes TOO many notes in one posting, there is some reader fatigue that sets in and could prevent readers from responding as readily as they might to a solo note.

Overall, though, I do what makes sense for me. And some part of me hopes that having more wines in a posting might actually spur on more conversation (as there are more data points for any one fellow WB’er to have a reaction to and want to post a comment about). It doesn’t seem to work out that way a lot of time, though, so I wouldn’t put too much stock in that particular theory… [berserker.gif]

Separate post for separate wine is my preference when posting, although I will post multiple TN’s in a single post when the TN’s are from a themed tasting or a tasting at a winery. Of course, first and foremost, I just want people to post their TN’s ever how they see fit to. It’s great to have lots of TN’s to read! [berserker.gif]

In general, I prefer separate threads for each wine note; it just seems more organized that way. I also prefer to see notes on the same wine in the same thread, so there aren’t a dozen different notes on the same wine cluttering up the index. But if there is a themed event, say an offline, then I like to see all the notes from the event on a single thread.

I’m glad you asked this. I’ll start doing mine separately in most cases.

I have found the fatigue factor is an issue.

FWIW, I prefer to read them in one post, rather than having to bounce back and forth to multiple posts. I don’t see why searching is an issue, it’ll still come up if it’s part of a multi-note post.

I like singles for searchability and to foster conversation about individual wines if they are just randomly consumed.

Conversely, if there is a themed event, I do like to see multiples to get a sense of what was going on.
