After we returned home we were a bit hungry, since all we’d had at the tasting was a nice melted cheese dip with small fresh tortillas, shrimp ceviche with tortilla chips, and a chicken flauta with a lightly spicy sour cream -avocado sauce. We decided to have a cup of chicken-rotini-broccoli-carrot soup each with dry sausages and a bottle of 2005 Tablas Creek Hommage á Beaucastel - good fill, just under the capsule; dark ruby color; rich dark fruit, with spice and earth, in nose and flavors; balanced mid-palate with ripe dark fruit; and a medium long dark fruit finish. This all was enjoyable while watching the second stage of the Tour de Suisse (via TiVo) and relaxing after the great Meursault-Charmes tasting in the afternoon.
