Imagine how I feel
Well done! Rosé with pizza is one of the most brilliant matches that wine geeks overlook in the rush to red. Not that there’s anything wrong with red, but we always start with a rosé on pizza nights.
Also, nice choices. We drank both of those exact wines within the last week.
I recognize that pizza. Delorenzo?
Always!
How was this wine? I have some of this on the way.
I’ve opened the Dolcetto and this now, both with pizza. This one I pulled the cork ~4 hours before dinner.
The Dolcetto was exactly what I wanted, some tart fruit, good acid, held up well with the meal. The Langhe Nebbiolo benefited from the air, but the fruit expression didn’t quite come out enough for me. Next time I’ll probably do a full decant for a longer period.
Overall though, I think they certainly at least hit for their price
Excellent, thanks. I imagine I’ll also look to the dolcetto to try first once they arrive. I also have barbera coming and some 2020 Barolo Perno.
Yup, love that Rosato–nice looking pies, too!
My 72 hour proof sourdough crust pizza. Still a bit too thick, I will keep trying. The 17 Istine Levigne Riserva was very good.
Bought a couple bottles of the Tig 1990 years ago for about $35 and are long gone. How was it drinking?
It was fabulous. The pizza, Cannon Beach, OR and the Tig. It was for our anniversary and I really wanted a 1990 bottle. Originally the plan was for a '90 Latour, but in my mind I was convinced it was counterfeit. So, I went with this and it could not have been better. Still a lot of life left in it.
I listened to this podcast which had Nathan Myhrvold talking about pizza and thought it was worth the time. It’s about half way in.
Congrat’s on the anniversary and The Tig!
