Please tell me that’s a negroni. Pie looks delicious too, but… ![]()
How are pickles on pizza? Sounds interesting!!!
Strong to very strong.
A local chain here in the Seattle area called Pagliacci Pizza does a seasonal “cheeseburger” pizza. It’s their dough, an olive oil base (no red sauce) and hamburger toppings, including dill pickle slices. While it’s certainly not traditional, it’s definitely delicious.
I had one of those in the last year, and it was really good!
Love a good cheeseburger pizza with pickles. It really is neither a cheeseburger nor pizza, but it’s still delicious. Similarly, I like to repeatedly anger one of my good friends from Philly by sending him pictures of the cheesesteak pizza I get once in a blue moon from a local Italian restaurant – it is equally delicious and comes with the added benefit of profane fits of texting from my friend. It general, great pizza dough is a fantastic blank canvas for experimentation.
I love that, Ravi! A good-natured ribbing of a pizza purist is fun indeed.
I’ve lived in Philly my whole life and have seen all kinds of cheesesteak pizzas, it’s pretty common in local pizza places all over the area. My childhood pizza spot had a cheesesteak stuffed pizza that came with a cup of sauce to dip, unbelievably good. We also have the inverse, the “pizza steak”, which is a cheesesteak with mozzarella and pizza sauce that’s baked in the oven. So your friend needs to chill lol
Classic match with MSD
Too bad the bottle was in a box that froze overnight (another bottle in the box had the cork forced out through the foil capsule). I figured I’d try a Hail Mary and open the bottle in the pic there l, as the cork and capsule seemed fine, but it tasted like ass and had a horrible aftertaste. Sad.
Then I have no idea why he is complaining. Of course I do send him texts of the “cheesesteaks” I get from Arby’s too so maybe it is not just an objection to pizza pictures. Regardless, I still think pizza dough provides an excellent medium for experimentation.
And so as not to offend any other Philly fans for my callous disregard for the true qualities of a cheesesteak – the experience of standing in line at Pat’s after attending an Eagles game, drinking more beer at many bars along the way, and getting hungrier as we waited in that ridiculously long line, was truly a great meal and and a lifetime memory.
[Insert comments about many local places that are much better than Pat’s (and Geno’s)]
Very under-the-radar bubbly. What can’t Fiano do well?
Rebuy, if I can find it again.
I live in the desert, Santa Fe, and we have good pizza!
If it looks anythinglike that pizza right above your comment, you may want to rethink that😂
Good thing it was all eaten very quickly so nobody had to look at it anymore. a picture of the empty cutting board would definitely be better so no one else has to look at it anymore either
