Pierre-Yves Colin Morey St-Aubin Chateniere 1er Cru 2009

Light golden, but rather white’ish (Young) on the color. Initially a massive sulphur nose that is reminicent of a young JJPrüm Spätlese. Also some botrytis-like aromas present on the nose. In the mouth this wine is generous, yellow fruited, but still very linear and Classic in it’s appearance. Still shows a grainy texture that I am not necessarily very impreseed of. Could be a good wine though - in a few years…

Haven’t had this wine and don’t know my burgs to nth degree but two comments.

  1. agree re sulphur on this producers wine. Also some overt lees stirring from time to time in some bottlings is not something I am fond of in whites in their youth.
  2. didn’t know there was any botrytis in 2009. Ripe fruit yes. Botrytis is more of an 08 thing.

@Rasoul,

I corrected this into botrytis-like aromas, as this was the impression I got.

The sulphur-level present, is almost too much for the moment, and really dominates the wine.

Best
