Great wines and notes. The 1990 DRC Echezeaux is a star wine but a number of these are, who else posts on Faiveley’s Musigny Cheers Mike
I caught up with a friend of mine on Friday and told him about the Penfolds Bin 63. He used to have lunch regularly with Max Schubert and Max had told him about this rare treat, believing it to be a better wine than the legendary 1962 Bin 60A. Thanks again Paul for providing such a gem for us to taste.
I’ve had the 60a three times, the last two bottles it seemed just a bit tired and on the decline, (but that could just have been those bottles, who knows?)
This wine was certainely right up there, no doubt about it. I’ve no doubt it is probably much rarer, as I cant recall every having seen another one.
Those old Shiraz/Cabernet blends sure do have the ability though to age for a very, very long time…
