Lonely yesterday? Hehe
But I WAS lonely at the tasting. Where was my Fresno crew? Did you guys bail on me?
thanks for having us yesterday, Mary…it was great to see you and Colin and try the wines…Linda, I’d love to hear what you liked at the tasting…anything really stand out?
I worked the entire time and didn’t get to taste.

well…that sucks
Since I had some say but not enough to filibuster the majority, we hit Justin, Whale Bone, Villa Creek, Denner and Linne on Saturday (with dinner at McPhee’s in Avila, and the 07 Curran Grenache Blanc that was great). Weather was a bit “brisk” for those in open toed shoes…
Spitting on the way out of town, I hit Booker, L’Aventure and Summerwood. L’Aventure was pouring their 07 Estate Cuvee, Cote de Cote and Cab which will all be amazing once the new oak intergrates just a little bit more (they were just bottled).
All excellent stops, to be sure. But you drove right by us on Saturday afternoon, and Dover Canyon was where all the Paso Berserkers were! You were within walking distance at two stops. Lame! [gheyfight.gif]
Ironically, you may have been cheek to jowl with Dover Dan on Sunday. He was also at Booker and L’Aventure, taking some family guests to visit our friends’ wineries.

what were your impressions of Whalebone? I’ve been meaning to stop there, but never have.
To provide some context, what were your opinions on your other stops as well. Even a quick couple words on each would be helpful. thanks.

Oh. I thought you were coming to the tasting Saturday night.
Was there when Dover Dan arrived at L’Aventure with his entourage and talking with Stephan…
Whalebone did nothing for me (but their tri-tip sliders were very good). Should have gone to Dover:) you probably got the limos when they left Denner… there’s nothing like seeing a couple of limos parked when you pull up to a winery.

Sounds like there’s a story to be told…

07 Curran Grenache Blanc that was great
Love that bottling every year. Fun and great wine.
