Is anyone from Northern California headed to this event in November? I plan to be there from Friday - Sunday, 7 - 9. Lots of new domestic producers to try.
I’m coming from SoCal.
I am going to try to make some appointments while down there.
It sounds like an interesting line-up this year (Bryan Harrington will be pouring his wines there on Friday) - I’d be going to check out the event but I have a schedule conflict.
For those that have not attended, it is a well thought out event weekend, with some good seminars thrown in ta boot. The Paso event tends to be pretty Paso centric, so I’ve chosen not to pour at the last few of them. This group also puts on a similar event in the Santa Ynez Valley in the Spring, and last year did their first LA event, at Grand Central Station . . ,
I also have a conflict, as I’ll be pouring at the Big Sur Food and Wine Festival for the first time this year that Saturday . .
Cheers!
Larry, It looks like I will come down to Santa Ynez for a week of tasting in the Spring and would want to combine with either Garagiste or Santa Barbara Futures. It doesn’t look like they will coincide.
This is one event I really have wanted to get to for a couple of years. I’ll be interested to hear how it went. I’ve think I have only tasted about a half dozen of the participants for this year.
k.
We always hope to find the next big thing in Paso wines.
Carucci, Crawford Family, Ground Effect, Harrison Clarke, Kessler-Haak, Larner, Liquid Farm, Moretti, Press Gang, Roark, Seagrape, Sillix, Tercero, Transcendence…SICK lineup from SB…
DEF a great line-up!! although we are no longer in the mix having become “too big” to qualify for a “Garagiste” - definitely make a small bit of wine compared to most in a very garage like working winery but, all good! its a great event!
A fun weekend.
We did the Thursday night winemaker mixer, Saturday seminars, and grand tasting. As expected, the favorites could be identified by the larger crowds at the grand tasting. Even so everything was very accessible, not an overcrowded event. Amazing to me so many people make wine. Fun chatting with the winemakers themselves. Steve Lohr told the AVA story which was interesting. This is my 2nd year, and I’ll probably be back next year.
