Anyone else run into tv shows with little nods to this hobby?
I just netflixed the entirety of Parks and Recreation, the Amy Pohler sitcom. I’m convinced someone on the staff is a wine person. When wine appeared on the table in various episodes, it was always identifiable. And sometimes used for gags that only a collector would get (as when city employees have dinner on the municipal budget and you see a bottle of Hundred Acre standing on the table). In another episode, a guy training to be a somm pairs a light pinot with fish and when asked for a cabernet that tastes like (as I recall) “Robin’s blood,” he pours a Shafer One Point Five. That’s not an accident.
