Pairing help Grilled quail w/ espresso bbq sauce

I had grilled quail with an “Italian” BBQ sauce last Friday and it went really well with aged Barolo (89 & 90 Conterno Bussia and Manzone Gramolere). The BBQ sauce was not nearly as aggressive as commercial US brands, so the combo was mighty tasty.
