Wow, tough crowd. His posts may be a little verbose, but I generally respect his palate. Plus, he seems to have a real interest in the actual making of the wine, the vineyards, cellars, the growers and winemakers. After all, he could have just shown up and tasted a bunch of stuff that importers put in front of him.
His palate correlation with Parker is truly amazing.

As are his tasting notes.
Apparently Beausejour Duffau is a lock now to make its first “great wine” since 1990, despite the harvest not even being complete, as it’s been annointed the new vintage of the century and the right people have been retained. What happened to Jeff’s admonition about commenting on wines that you haven’t yet tasted (much less those which haven’t been made)?
Mostly reads like marketing IMO.
As I read Jeff hype up 2009, I am reminded of Robert Parker’s quote earlier this year…
****
“As most reasonable people know, it is absurd to try and judge the quality of a vintage before a single grape is harvested, or even before the chateaux have made their selections and final blends.”-Robert Parker, 30 April 2009
In case you did not see it yet…

Guess I missed that. Thanks for pointing it out Dan.
