Oregon wine haul

My Oregon wine haul’s finally came in from when I visited back in June - will try to give my tasting notes from when I visited - went to Goodfellow, Lingua Franca and Bergstrom in that order (would have loved to visit more, but was only in the area for ~1.5 days). Not the best with tasting notes + most of this is from memory + what I noted on my order sheet at the time, so bear with me!

Goodfellow

  • 2022 Temperance Hill Chardonnay - Probably my favorite wine I tried there, strong flint/popcorn kernel notes & was reductive in a great way
  • 2022 Tsai Blance de Noir - I don’t drink Sparkling very much, but remember it being floral with incredible acid
  • 2022 Tsai Chardonnay - This one had a wide variety of aromas and a nice salty quality to it
  • 2022 Heritage Pinot - Was a mix of red/black fruit when I had this (with a more dominant black-fruit profile from what I remember - was decanting for a bit by the time we arrived for the tasting)
  • 2022 Temperance Hill Pinot - To be honest, I don’t remember this one too much, but I must have liked it since I got it!
  • 2013 Whistling Ridge Pinot - This ones color and tannin profile were both beautiful - definitely more rustic and had a great spice profile on the nose and had a relatively light body

From what I read online, seems like a lot of Goodfellow wines really shine in the cellar, so I plan to keep these for a while to come.

Bergstrom

  • La Spirale Pinot 2023 - Probably one of my favorite wines throughout the whole trip - beautiful red fruit profile with a ton of acid
  • La Spirale Chardonnay 2018 - Admittedly didn’t have this, but bought it anyways!
  • Winery Block 2018 Pinot - This one had a more robust tannin profile and had more tertiary notes
  • 2018 Sigrid Chardonnay - Remember this having a distinct meyer lemon/vanilla profile and had a lot of great structure from sitting in oak. Was a bit pricey, but loved the wine!

Not featured, but also had 4 bottles from Lingua Franca - two Sauv blancs, which I thought were fantastic for the price (~35 per) and 2 Pinots (La Belle / Mimis Mind - both fantastic, but liked La Belle a lot more)
