Nothing comes to mind. As much as every vintage is different, there is often some resemblence to another vintage. But this one is more unique than many and I feel that comparisons might steer people astray.

Agree, can’t think of a vintage this year resembles and maybe most years we should refrain from direct comparisons. However 2005 had a soaking rain at the start of harvest and then mild conditions after and this year had a lot of that. There’s a sense of 2019 in the fruit itself, more delicate color in some sites (not all!) and the new red wines coming out of the fermenters are pretty lean and needing ML and time in barrel. Which is great. The wines shouldn’t taste finished yet. Imagine you’ve arrive at a hilltop villa at night and you can imagine the view is incredible but you can’t take it in quite yet. Patience.
