Opinions on Rice Cookers

I bought a National (now Panasonic?) fuzzy logic 5-cup model about 10 years ago. It looks very similar to this Panasonic model: http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-SR-DE102-Fuzzy-Logic-Electronic-Cooker/dp/B001T9D6B6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1274227159&sr=1-1

It works beautifully and still looks like new with a fair amount of use. Like Bob, I have also used this to make oatmeal and the timer function gets a lot of use. Also, since brown rice takes a long time to make, I used to get it set up in the morning and set the timer so the rice would be done when I got home from work. It’s also very easy to steam veggies with the cooker. Mine was $200 at the time. They can now be had for less than $100. It’s a no-brainer purchase for me.

Zojirushi all the way. I like to think of myself as a pretty decent cook but sometimes getting the timing of getting all of the components of the meal done at the same time can be tough. The keep warm feature means I can concentrate on the other components and not worry about the rice.

100% agree with this. Perfect rice of all kinds, every time.

^^good posting^^

our Zojirushi is great for sushi rice too.

Another Zojirushi fan.
One thing it does is re-warm leftover rice which comes out great.
