I’m still scratching my head?
Here’s a new and entertaining way to destroy good glassware:
Step 1: Coravin a nice bottle-16’ Gelin Gevrey 1er Prieur let’s just say. New capsule in the Coravin, one of the faster-pour large-ish bore needles. Give a generous pour and enjoy the red cherries integrating nicely with Gevrey iron and dirt. Delicious. Smugly congratulate yourself for having such sophiscated taste.
Step 2: Go back for more and give it a good blast of argon, “just in case”.
Ka-blooey! Exit squealing, covered in wine, stepping on glass.
Best I can guess, high argon pressure in the bottle meets not-so-tight cork. It blew the whole Coravin apparatus with cork still attached right out of the bottle like a champagne blast. There was wine and Grasl Cru shards everywhere.
Anyone else ever had this happen?

At least the bottle stayed intact so you didn’t lose too much wine. I’m still trying to figure out how I got a wine geyser from a 1990s Leoville Barton when just pulling the cork. Other than the wine that sprayed me and my 8 foot ceiling, the wine was otherwise just fine, with no fizziness or other sign of secondary fermentation. I’ve opened tens of thousands of bottles and only had it happen this one time. Here’s a picture of my poor ceiling now, still bearing the signs several months later.

Just think, decades from now, you can show the young 'uns the ceiling and sigh and say, “'Ah yes, the great explosion of twenty-six.”

who feels Zaltos are just too fragile and no worth. Clearly the thinnest glass around

I don’t know that they are any thinner than Gabriel Glas Golds, though I prefer the GGGs which are the main glass I use.

The Grassl is thinner than the Zalto.

They break beautifully, in any event. 
Absolutely love my Grassl Cru glasses. 
The 1855 and Cru are my faves for reds. Love them as well!!!

Broke one on my tooth and cut my lip. Gave up the those Grassls and any other super thin rims.

I really don’t like the micro thin stems- I don’t like to hold the glass by the base (and frankly think it looks kinda dumb) but the stems are too barely there make me feel like I need tweezers to hold them properly. If I become arthritic will just get worse.
