My FIL passed away in August and there’s a huge china cabinet and buffet filled with awesome china from China and Japan he picked up while working as a buyer for ShopRite.

Also 30+ Lladró figurines. We’ll keep a couple of those for sentimental reasons.

We’ll consign it unfortunately.

Ice in my Aperol Spritz poked a hole in the glass.

A family member was downsizing and had multiple sets of haviland and other fine china that were all like new. Most were very valuable at one time. Antique stores and consignment shops wouldn’t touch them - said they just can’t sell them.

The warden snapped the neck of this one. A Fontaine demo glass from BD, her favorite.

It’s why I use stemless most of the time. I snap stems or mash them into the sink or faucet.

My condolences, I can empathize:

I just did the same to a Glasvin Prestige this weekend. Seems like I break Glasvin stems more frequently than Grassl although the Grassl seems more fragile.

Why is everybody smashing my wines this spring?

That looks like FedEx, right? I had UPS smash a case of absolute bangers from Brentwood East Coast. Would not deliver the wine even though only a few bottles of the 12 were broken. Somewhere out there, there is a postman jamming on Chave and Allemand.

To their credit, Brentwood absolutely made me whole and made a customer for life. UPS lost one though.

Yes, FedEx. Still waiting to hear from JJB but this has happened a couple of times and each time it’s always ended up somehow being a total loss. JJB will typically give me replacements (if available) or a credit.
