One wino = one mailing list

Here’s the scenario. After a meticulous review of this board, the U.S. government has decided to include wine in its list of controlled substances and closed all wine retailers opertaing in the U.S. So as not to be accused of Mao-like tactics, it will allow adults to subscribe to one mailing list to any U.S. winery for the rest of his/her life. All wine imports will be banned. The question that begs to be asked then: which winery will you choose and reason for your choice? One not only has to consider the quality but variety as well as you will be stuck with this selection maybe longer than your spouse.

I will let you choose first (as this is more difficult than I thought).

oh geez this is hard. I’m trying to think of a winery that puts out great pinot/syrah/chard/cab haha.

Mine would probably be Dehlinger. A wide variety of wines, consistent quality, and ageability.

Since I still have to pay for this wine, it would be hard to not get a nice variety (Chard, Viognier, Pinot and Syrah) and consistent quality from Melville. The benefit is the great QPR. [cheers.gif]

Rivers Marie? Pinot/cab/chard - affordable & delicious

my trigger reaction is Tablas Creek

Edmunds St. John.

Can you get a license for medicinal use and just grow your own?

i would have said that but i don’t want to incur the wrath of the wetrock and say I like Cali Fruit bomb cabs. tear

Peay: pinot, syrah, chard, viognier, rou/mar

Easy choice…Dehlinger

Scholium Project - 10+ wines. White, orange and red. Still wines and a potential sparkling on the horizon. The wines change from year-to-year. I would never get bored,

Copain. Syrah, pinot, and the occasional Rhone-style white. All versatile food wines.

Then again, I don’t drink too much Cali Cab anymore and probably wouldn’t miss it that much.

I’ll go with Copain also.

Beringer.

I think Beringer would probably be my pick as well. Consistent high-quality as well as loads of SVD & varietals.

Quality, consistency, variety, price, service - all lead me to Dehlinger!

I think I would move to another country . . .

Navarro.

Great Pinot Noir’s & whites (Chard, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewurtz, late harvest), drinkable Zins & Cabs, ocasional Petit Syrahs & others. Very good prices.

Bruno Giacosa!

I don’t care if that makes me a criminal! [1928_middle_finger.gif]
