Thanks Michel. Saw that Keith had posted notes so I figured I’d chime in with my two cents. For the most part, it was line-up that looked pretty great on paper that turned out pretty disappointing, but it was a fun dinner anyway. Keith’s a tough scorer, but here, I think my palate was pretty consistent with his opinions on most of these wines.
I’m a little late to the conversation but I’ll agree that the vast majority of the wines sucked big time. It was a total disappointment from the wine perspective… At least the duck and the company were solid though…
I took the 89 Chave home and revisited in the morning. It had definitely mellowed some and was slightly better with more time, but still nothing compared to the experience I’ve had with that wine in the past.
My endless repetition. Which Chave importer? It makes a huge difference.
