My bet too is Col Solare; doesn’t seem to fit anyone else; Fidelitas, Upchurch, etc.
My last experience with Col Solare was the 2010 vintage. To me, that wine started out dense and sweet, then with cellar time just faded away into banality. And I still have one bottle.
I came here to offer Col Solare as a probable guess. It’s a nice wine, and the price is decent ($100 is clearly too much).
Lots of offers are coming out for Bordeaux wines that are superior choices.
Pretty sure its col solar, it was searchable on the site, and its not there anymore, I think it was priced at 49 or 59 before. vivino world of wine has 2020v at 59 too.
Sorry to cross post, but looks like Rimmerman hopped on the Washington State mystery train today too!
I bought both. Sigh.
WTSO says 100% cab, but Col Solare (both 2021 and 2022) are blends.
Edit: WTSO says “100% Cabernet”, which I guess if it is a Cabernet Sauv and Franc blend it’s still 100% cab…
You are correct it does say 100% cab sav., 2020 col solare is listed as 100%cab sav on vivino
For those who purchased the Rasa Creative Impulse, you’re in for a treat. What a wonderful wine!
I also tried the Rasa Fianchetto, which wasn’t bad, but not particularly memorable either. Too much green bell pepper. I think the Fianchetto needs more time on its side.
Looking forward to the Creative Impulse, which I have tasted but never purchased a whole bottle.
Agree on the Fianchetto. Nice enough wine for $25 but comes off as a somewhat placeless polished red. I liked it, but don’t need to re-up from the three I bought.
Thanks for the tasting notes on the Rasa Fianchetto. When I get the 1 bottle I ordered, I’ll have to remember to tag it to drink in '28 or later. The org that rated had a drinking window starting in '23 so a little surprising that it has bell pepper taste now. I suppose it’s likely that taste will never go away with aging. Could be personal taste of the taster?
I didn’t get that at all but I prefer my wines on the younger side. To me, it was very in the vein of Elivette as far as flavor profile and mouthfeel but Fianchetto tannins were way more friendly. Bell pepper I don’t really remember being prominent. It was good enough I bought 3 and sent it to my brother.
I know this isn’t a WTSO offer but this thread has recently talked about Va Piano. I tried the below Va piano tonight at $29.99, before discount, and it was extremely good. Excellent QPR. 10% off with code “football”.
And now I see Va Piano Stoney Vine Syrah for $30 on Vivino. Feeling weak in the knees….
I bought 2 earlier! Looks to have excellent potential.
Va Piano Rosebud Cabernet Sauvignon Wahluke Slope 2021 is now available on WTSO. I was thinking about buying it and you guys may have pushed me into it.
Looking at today’s Saint Veeder offering. Interesting, I can’t find Saint Veeder winery online. Did it shut down? Or was it a sub brand under Mt. Veeder?
It under another winery, crouse i think, but they are also owned by another parent/corp group
Not really understanding why there are two premium wine pages.
So the main page has this link to premium wines: Premium Wine Delivery | Fine Wine for Sale
Then there is also this page which I stumbled upon that has even higher quality bottles but there doesn’t seem to be a link to it on the site: https://www.wtso.com/online-market
Anyone know why?
That’s funny, sometimes retailers will leave specific sale pages up even after they’re done. At first I thought it was their Premium Selections page, but doesn’t appear that’s the case.
