I’m pretty pround. No exceptions made. Found this dry January to be my easiest one. Down 6.7% of my body weight. This morning, I weighed myself and I last saw this number on the scale in April of 2024. For the most part I was very low carb and while not militant about IMF, I tried to stick to a 10-8 IMF.
Unfortunately, as previously detailed, I tore my hamstring and am having surgery this Tuesday. Hoping for as quick a recovery as possible, but realistically, it’s going to be a slog. I’m assuming I’m not going to want to drink (much or at all) and I’m going to try to stick to the diet as well. I have a lot of room for continued loss. Hoping not to lose too much muscle while I’m laid up.
Got a text from my oldest about an hour ago detailing the Vesper she was drinking. Sounds pretty darn good!
Cheers all!
Edited to add…a little liposuction while I’m getting my hammy fixed wouldn’t be a bad thing.
Agreed. I’m sure I could have been down 10 lbs but I’m happy with being down 7. It was my easiest Dry January by far. I mentioned upthread that it has simply become “what I do” in January. Hope that carries through in the future.
Agreed. It’s just part of what I do. Although that first weekend in January is usually frustrating, it gets much easier after that and I admit to looking forward to it. The end of the year usually feels celebratory and indulgent so the reset really feels good.
We have mules for holidays and have a fresh pressed cider option vs. whiskey, vodka, tequila…its pretty good with lime juice, and couple dashes of bitters.
Some holidays, I just skip the alcohol options and drink the cider version.
Got on the scale for the first time in ages this morning, more out of curiosity, I had no weight loss goals as part of this - between no alcohol and regular swimming I’m down close to 8lbs, I haven’t changes my diet at all, feeling pretty good!
